Kyra's Leadership Journey of Leading with Purpose & Giving with Heart
With a passion for Chinese heritage and calligraphy, Kyra is a top-performing Primary 6 Prefect from Henry Park Primary School. She was transferred from Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School since Primary 4, and has consistently rank among the top 3 in her cohort across the last few years, exemplifying her academic excellence, discipline and leadership.
Beyond her academic achievements, Kyra is driven by a deep commitment to give back to society. She actively leads and participates in meaningful social outreach and initiatives, including monthly food preparation volunteering at Willing Hearts, organize FoodBank, clothes and shoes donation drives, beach clean-up, outreach to elderly residents, and also regular visits and engagement to a regular overseas Indonesian orphanage, turning compassion into action, displaying values in action.
An avid environmentalist, she also actively volunteers with Community in Nature under NParks, contributing regularly to many island-wide bird, butterfly, and dragonfly spotting and counting efforts.
Her initiatives reflect a young leader who not only excels, but inspires positive change in both community and environment, locally and overseas.

Kyra completed a formal Chinese calligraphy course from 2025 to 2026, and continues to actively refine her craft through ongoing weekly practice and lessons. Her calligraphy teacher has mentioned that she is the fastest learner among all her students she has taught so far. Through these disciplines, she not only develops artistic skill, but also cultivates patience, discipline, and a deep respect for tradition.
Her artistic pursuits have also gained recognition. One of her Chinese paintings was selected for a school exhibition and featured in the school yearbook, a testament to both her talent and dedication.
Driven by curiosity on Chinese culture, she has immersed herself in cultural learning beyond the classroom, travelling to China cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shangri-La, and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lijiang within a short span of six months from late 2025 to early 2026. By immersing herself in the rich Chinese history and visiting the ancient old towns there, these experiences have broadened her understanding of Chinese history and enriched her appreciation of its cultural heritage.


In 2025 alone, she has achieved exceptional results in various international competitions, including:

In addition, she was also garnered a Silver Award at the World Gifted Mathematics Contest (2024), further demonstrating her consistent performance at an international level.
These accomplishments underscore Kyra’s ability to compete and excel globally, combining academic excellence with confidence, adaptability, and a strong drive to push her own boundaries.


Her consistent performance reflects both her analytical ability and her willingness to stretch beyond the classroom. One key achievement in 2026 would be being the top 50 finalist for the SOTA Creative Writing Competition in Singapore, where she was invited to attend their workshop being the top 50, and thereafter invited to apply for SOTA Talent Academy in Literacy Arts for 2027.

Through these experiences, Kyra has developed resilience, critical thinking, and the confidence to embrace challenges, continuously striving to grow and excel across multiple disciplines.


Despite the change, Kyra has thrived and consistently excelled, earning the Top Performer Award in both Primary 4 (2024) and Primary 5 (2025) in HPPS, a testament to her ability to adapt, persevere, and thrive in her new school and more competitive environment.
Her subject strengths were also recognized through Best in Subject for Chinese (Primary 4) and Best in Subject for Science (Primary 5), alongside the Master of Order Award (2025), reflecting both her academic capability and personal discipline.
Prior to her transfer to HPPS for Primary 4 in 2024, Kyra was also awarded the Passion for Learning Award at Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ Primary School, presented to the top-performing students in her class, underscoring a consistent track record of excellence and a genuine love for learning.


During her time at Henry Park Primary School, she was a proud recipient of the Edusave Scholarship (2025), alongside the Edusave Certificate of Academic Achievement (2024) and the Edusave Character Award (2024) - reflecting both her academic performance and values-driven conduct.
Prior to her transfer in Primary 4, Kyra was also recognized at Paya Lebar Methodist Primary School, where she received the Edusave Merit Award (2022 & 2023), Edusave Certificate of Achievement (2023), and Edusave Certificate of Learning Achievement (2022).
Together, these accolades underscore a sustained track record of excellence, resilience, and well-rounded development across both academics and character.


Committed to further developing her leadership capabilities, Kyra participated in an intensive four-day Leadership Camp conducted by Harvard and SpeechAcademy Asia in 2025. Through this experience, she strengthened her communication skills, confidence, and ability to influence and inspire others.
Even prior to her transition to Henry Park Primary School, Kyra demonstrated early leadership potential as a Class Monitor in Primary 3 at Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ Primary School, reflecting a consistent inclination towards responsibility and service. She was also selected for the Prefectorial interview in PLMGS for Primary 4, but she was transferred to HPPS in January 2024.
Together, these experiences highlight a young leader who not only earns trust, but actively invests in becoming more effective, purposeful, and impactful in her leadership journey.


She has successfully completed and earned 11 Young Scientist Awards from the Singapore Science Centre, across diverse fields including Botany, Engineering, Energy, Ecology, Genetics, Mathematics, Food Science, Entomology, Fabrication, Chemistry, and Astronomer.
These achievements reflect not only her academic ability, but also her initiative, curiosity, and commitment to exploring the world through scientific inquiry.


In 2025, she was selected to represent her school at the National-Level Design Competition, where she led her team in developing a project to address real-world challenges, demonstrating creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving on a competitive platform across a period of few months.
She was also chosen to represent her school in the Singapore Youth Festival Art Exhibition (2025), an honour that recognizes both her artistic ability and creative expression.
Beyond school, Kyra has built a strong foundation in mental discipline and numerical agility. From 2008, she trained at CMA (Centre for Mental Arithmetic) where she started at Grade 13, and achieved Grade 1 in Mental Arithmetic and Grade 5 in Abacus Arithmetic in 2013, reflecting her early commitment to focus, precision, and cognitive development. Kyra has has a keen interest in coding and has attended various coding workshops, and also the Coding Olympics in both 2025 & 2024. Kyra also plays the piano and ukulele.
In 2026, she was also one of the selected few to be awarded an Outstanding Progress Award by The Learning Lab.
Together, these experiences highlight Kyra’s versatility, a student who not only excels academically, but actively seeks opportunities to grow, lead, and express herself across multiple domains.


Through music, she cultivates focus, patience, and creativity, finding balance while expressing herself beyond the classroom.
