Entrepreneurship

Where creativity meets initiative, and real-world learning

What began as a simple study break activity, creating bead charms for her water bottles, soon evolved into a meaningful entrepreneurial journey for Kyra in 2026.

Together with her Secondary 2 sister from Nanyang Girls’ High School, Kyra began designing customized charms for their  personal use in December 2025. When school reopened, their creations quickly gained traction among classmates and friends, growing organically through word of mouth. Within a short span of time, their hobby expanded into a small-scale venture, creating customized accessories for water bottles, bags, phones, even Nike baby shoes and more.

In February 2026, through the encouragement of their customers, they launched a WhatsApp channel, “Bead & Breakfast,” building a growing and engaged community with more than 100 followers currently. Through consistent content creation and active engagement, they learned to respond to customer preferences, refine their designs, and adapt quickly to trends. Kyra took ownership of all marketing and deliveries, while her sister managed operations and production, reflecting their strong camaraderie, teamwork and initiative.

Today, their efforts have grown into a modest four-digit business. While profitability was never the primary goal, the journey became a powerful platform for learning. From managing customer expectations and navigating complex requests, to understanding pricing, cost management, and sourcing materials both locally and overseas, Kyra gained valuable real-world exposure beyond the classroom.

More importantly, this experience shaped her perspective. It sparked deeper conversations at home around responsibility, decision-making, and value creation, reinforcing her belief that learning extends far beyond textbooks.
